![]() He is bringing over a pump tomorrow to pull out some of the fluid and we’ll see what happens from there. And if so, why didn’t this happen sooner than when I went to take it on the trip about two weeks later? (I don’t drive very much, about 15-20 min each way Monday-Friday for work and gigs/rehearsals some nights in between. So I’m thinking the place that changed my oil could have topped off my fluids, but then would have put almost two quarts more than they should have in the transmission line? Doesn’t really make sense. Apparently the fluid level was almost double what the dipstick said it should be. ![]() He looked it over, didn’t see anything obvious that was wrong, and confirmed my thoughts on the issue, but also checked the fluid level. I unfortunately was exposed to covid so I haven’t been able to do anything about the issue until today when I had my mechanic friend come and check it out. It most definitely was transmission fluid (orange/reddish color and oily feel) which my friend just confirmed looking at it today. Nothing looked broken, no hoses or anything out of the ordinary except for a small hose (one of two) down low and up front near the radiator that looked as if it could have been leaking. It seemed as though it was coming from somewhere in the bottom and blowing up into the engine and on the inside of the hood because we were cruising down the highway. After pulling over and popping the hood there was fluid sprayed all over the engine. While slowing down I noticed some smoke coming from the engine. (It was super windy so at first I thought it was just working hard because of that, but that was not the case) At this point my temp gauge started creeping past halfway so I started slowing down to pull over. I was cruising on the highway 80-85 mph when my rpm gauge started running up around 4000rpm but was bouncing back and forth about 500rpm. We didn’t make it 40 miles out of the city before breaking down. ![]() Hey everyone! I’m having an issue with my 2005 Vue redline that is stumping me and my mechanic buddy and I’m wondering if anyone can help shine a light.Ībout a week and a half ago I was taking the vehicle for a ~3 hour trip from Nashville to Evansville Indiana.
